Hi All, need legal description or numbers help. Lot 13, 14, 15, 16 Block 188 in the City of Duncan, Stephens County, Oklahoma. Thank you.

That is the proper legal description. If you signed a deed or lease with this description, this description is legally adequate. In all likelihood, this is in Section 5-1N-7W.

Hi, Pat -

I looked up Section 1, Township 1 North-Range 7 West and found that it is the bulk of the town of Morrow, Oklahoma, which is about a mile north of the northern boundary line of Duncan, Oklahoma.

I checked with the Stephens County Assessor’s Office and they said it was Section 5, Township 1 South-Range 7 West, which is in the city of Duncan.

There have been only two wells drilled in the Section. If either of them were ever completed, DrillingInfo doesn’t have the information.

Chesapeake picked up 138 leases in the Section in 2005 - 2006, but they all appear to have expired under their own terms.
