Depending upon where your acreage is in Carter County, there are some very active leasing and horizontal drilling areas. So lots of buyers are out there trying to buy minerals before those wells are drilled. If you want to share the section, township and range, we can give you an idea about activity nearby.
Buyers intend to make a profit off of their purchases. In general, they have an economic model that is for payoff of their purchase price in a certain number of years discounted for the time value of money. A general time frame is 3-5 years or so. They will then collect the royalties for the next few decades or sell them to someone else for a higher value.
