I have an expiring lease in Carter Co. This is the first time in 8 years that I have not already been contacted by the co. to renew the lease another 3 years prior to expiration. I had received info from the co regarding a well they were setting up earlier this year so I assumed something would possibly break on it. Still, nothing on any drilling, and now, again, no offer of lease renewal. I am still relatively new to all of this so just curious from someone more versed if there are some likely or plausible explanations? Thanks in advance
JABrown, if you provide the location of your minerals someone on this site will take a look at what’s happening in the area. I’ve never seen a lease with more than one option to renew, but since your lease is 8 years old, it might be a good time to tune it up.
