In many states, the mineral leases are not public and only a memorandum of lease is filed with very little information. If you lease, then be sure and keep a copy of your original lease for your records.

If an inexperienced or undercapitalized operator drills a dry hole on your property your mineral value has collapsed. Choose wisely

Have an independent geologist review the geologic data before leasing. Worst thing u can do is get a dry hole or wet no oil. That really damages mineral value forever
