My family has minerals in Anderson and Henderson County, Texas. I was wondering if any leasing activity was going on in that area.
There hasn’t been any recent leasing activity in Anderson County. I don’t track Henderson County, but I do know there has been considerable activity to the east in Cherokee County that I’ve been thinking might extend into Anderson County at some point.
The leasing in Cherokee appears to follow a wide path roughly centered around Rusk but with some leases extending further north into Smith County.
If you’ll go to the Cherokee County section of the forum and look at the posts related to Key Exploration you’ll find a good map showing that lease area and speculation about what is behind that activity.
