New to this due to inheritance and don’t know how owning mineral right work. Is there any general knowledge anyone can give on how it works?

Read the last year’s postings in the State and County where your minerals are located to get a feel for the other forum members questions and the answers.
The National Association of Royalty Owners is another good source. They have a Category on the forum. They also have a website and some UTube videos on Minerals Management 101.
