So little help understanding status of my lease after company A drills a well, currently producing(marginal), then assigns all leases to Company B. What rights does Company A retain regarding production and my lease? Is it like a well bore lease only? Thank you
There should be an Assignment from Company A to Company B filed in the McClain County Clerkâs Office. That document will govern what rights Company A and Company B own. These documents can be very simple (all right title and interest of Company A goes to Company B), or they can be very complicated with way too many possibilities to list here. You will have to have someone knowledgeable review the Assignment.
Thank you. I do have attorney looking into it. I have not ever dealt with this situation- was unaware assignments could be that varied in their stipulations. Just trying to educate myself!
