My family has two leases that are coming due the end of April. One is a lease to Whiting T 23N R 59E, sec. 6 lots 3,4,5 SE4,NW4 net of 120 acres the other leased to XTO same T&R sec 24, lot 4, SE4, NE4, net 50.5 acres. Neither company has indicated interest in renewal. Can any one tell me what activity has been seen in this area and what rate one might expect , if and offer did come forward.
Our family's lease of 160 acres with XTO expired on 1-18-2013 for T 22N R 60E, Sec 5 sw 1/4. I spoke with a representative of Bakken Oil LLC who did the previous lease. He indicated that it was his impression that XTO was pulling out of the Sidney, MT area. We, like you, are looking for information and looking for someone who would like assist us in leasing the property. We have had two wells drilled on the property back in the '70s. Both produced oil and the second one was a very good well, but the casing collapsed and the well had to be capped. If I hear any news, I will pass it on to you.
