Looking for lease rates for non-producing land in Southeast McMullen County. Anyone know what the current rates per acre might be?
Typically they flare it because there is either no infrastructure to get it to market, or the value of the oil that a well can produce is so high that the oil operator won’t bother getting the gas processing facilities in place before they start producing the well.
The RRC is supposed to tighten up the amount of flaring that is going on, but they are severely underresourced, so don’t hold your breath.
