I'm rather new to this and after doing some extensive research I wasn't able to find much about this so if someone could help me out I would really appreciate it.
A company by the name of Next Energy out of Denver contacted me about Mineral rights that I own in Saline County, Illinois. They are proposing a deal of $25.00/per net acre with a 1/8th royalty and a 5 year term.
I am unable to find much information on pricing in that region although I do know there have been areas producing oil for quite some time. Is there any way someone could give me an idea of what per net acre bonus they have and also if that royalty is fair?
Hi, Jeff, I know the post was 3 years ago, almost. Did you ever sign with Nextenergy? I have a small amt of G&O rights, not land. I live out of state and really do not want to deal with this. I signed with them in 2011 but I want to try and sell the rights at some point. What information have you gotten? Betsy
I believe we did end up signing with NextEnergy. My brother, who is a lawyer, ended up taking care of most of it, so I don't have many specifics for you. It's really tough to get a hold of information on this stuff, right? My best suggestion would be to contact someone in the area that you trust or contact a lawyer that specializes in this stuff.
