What does all of these numbers mean on a Texas lease? L76C S F AUSTIN 1 3/4 A37
Unable to locate the L76C. Thanks Dale,
What County is the land located in and how is the alpha-numeric sequence used?
It is located in Brazoria County.

The "S F Austin" is Stephen F. Austin, the name of the Survey, "A37" is Abstract No 37 or A-37, Brazoria County, Texas.
The rest must be some sort of Company Lease Number or something. It does not appear to be a legal description or any type of usual County Clerk's recording data.
Ok, thank you for the quick reply. I guess that answers my question. I just thought it would be narrowed down somewhat.

How many acres do you have? Do you own all of the minerals or only part of them? What is your legal description?
Sometimes the sequence is something like "L" for Lease, "76" might be the company's lease number, "C" could be the third Lease involved in that tract... that sort of thing. I have no idea what the 1 - 3/4 might be unless it your acreage.
I'm sure the company could tell you what it all stands for. Most have Help Lines or Websites.
I just took those numbers off of a lease agreement I was sent about 30 years ago. I don;t think anything became of it. Never heard any more about it. Not sure exactly where my rights are located.

What is the legal description on the lease?
