There has been a lot of leasing going in League 276 during the last few months. Does anyone know of any upcoming development in this area???
Could you give section, block, township description for league 276 leasing?
The legal description in this part of Dawson County does not use the Public Land Survey System terms such as Section, Block, Township, or Range. Instead, they use the language of early Spanish and Mexican land grants such as “League” or “Labor”. League 276 is roughly 9 miles SW of Lamesa, TX.
Sorry - I wanted to look it up on the trrc gis viewer. I have a very tiny interest in 2 recently drilled horizontal wells which I think might be close.
You can still find this area on the RRC GIS map. The western part of Dawson County uses Leagues and Labors as the legal description.
Sorry - I only have an iPad and the trrc site is NOT friendly for use with an iPad. I tried to see league and labour on both trrc and glo sites and could not see them on my iPad. Sorry I could not help you.
League 276 is also in the Glasscock CSL (County School Land) Survey. Look for that on the RRC GIS map.
On the RRC GIS, just plug in 276 where it asks for Section. It will take you right to League 276. Also note that it is Abstract 416.
Anything west of FM 829 uses the “League” and “Labor” legal description. Anything east of FM 829 uses the Section, Block, Township legal description.

I found your league 276 - just hard to navigate trrc gis viewer on an iPad. Our interests are about 8 sections east of you. Our combined family leased 2 years ago for $3000 NMA. We represent about 80 A. The family members whose interests represent about 6 A each received offers to purchase their mineral rights (will never do!) for $6250 per A last week. Other than this, I cannot offer any more information except speculation concerning our area.
Now that we all know where League 276 is located, does anyone know of any development activity in this area?? There has been a lot of leasing during the last few months.
There is no development activity. People just guessing/hoping/thinking/knowing that Dean development will continue to the North.
I too have seen a lot of leasing going on in 276. I have been hearing of a new group leasing just north of EOG in 270 and on into League 275, does anyone know if that’s the case?
Remnant Resources, LLC out of Midland has been very actively leasing in 276, especially in the N/2 recently. Has anyone seen any leasing further north into Leagues 277 or 278? Are they looking for the Dean or Wolfcamp, or any other zone?
