Good afternoon. I have mineral rights on an 80 acre area. I have found township 25S, range 36E, section 18. I have not found E/2, SE/4. I’m looking for the boundaries of the 80 acres. Can anyone help? Thank you.
It is helpful to read the aliquots from right to left. So look for the SE4 and then the East Half of the that quarter section. You have what is called a “standup” 80 acres. You may only have a smaller net acres within the section. Leases often only describe the gross acreage.
If you are getting offers to buy, it is because there are rigs on site drilling horizontal wells through 18/19/30/31. The spacing of those wells will include your 80 acre description. If it were me, I would not sell…
Thank you.
I will hold on to it then.
I don’t think there is a rig there. The rigs are in 26s 36e, not 25s 36e. BUT, don’t you have a bunch of Civitas wells producing in your section?
Sure, don’t sell, seems fine. But from the tone of your original question I get the feeling that maybe you are not getting paid currently? If so, I would contact Civitas and see what is up.
Maybe I am confused.
Thank you. I am communicating with them now. Waiting on technician response. I was getting paid for 4 wells, it has gone down to 2. Also, there seems to be a discrepancy on the net minerals amount that was relayed to me from former driller Taprock.
You are right, I was a township off. Blinked and not enough coffee. Sorry about that.
Thank you. Haven’t heard from them yet. I’m new to the lease laws. Just got my Dad’s will probated late.2023. I live in Texas. I may need your advice later on. Merry Christmas. ![]()
