Hi, this is all new to me. I guess I need general help even locating this property. My G’ am left 10 acres in Lavaca county to her four children. This property is near the border of Lavaca county, in 1946. In 1978 the heirs sold the 10 acres but maintained the mineral rights. Last year we ( my 7 siblings and I decided to allow a company to test the ground to see if they could drill under it to get to another acreage to drill on. We each received a check for around $38.00 to allow them to go under land to test ground for drilling. To date we have not heard from them again. I’d like to know if there is much drilling in that area. Any help much appreciated.
April,
You may want to join the Lavaca County Group to find out what is going on in the area of your minerals.

April,
From Dec. 1, 2013 through Jan. 24, 2014 there have been 26 approved permits for Lavaca County Texas. 7 of those approved permits were for recompletions and 19 were for new wells to be drilled. 3 pages of permits in this link. Click on Lease to view the permit and other info. Lavaca County is a fairly active county as far as oil/gas exploration/production.

Hi, April -
If you can provide us with your legal description we can provide you with quite a lot of information on your area.

There is a video tutorial on the Home page of this site that shows you how to check this with the railroad Comission.
