Trying to get title changed on land in Louisiana(Lafayette Parish) with mineral rights. I am the POA for my dad who is an heir. One other heir I have no contact with. Apparently the Affidavit of Heirship form needs both heirs or nothing gets done.
I don’t have any contact with the other heir and don’t want to for various reasons. Am I stuck not being able to help my dad get his share of the income from the mineral rights unless the other heir is contacted and fill out and notarizes the form at the same time ?
