There have been several posts on this board about individuals who didn’t receive notice of an OCC action. This could be due to moving, a bad address, poor land work or the mail system.
Almost all OCC actions have to have a publication for notice purposes. One thing an owner can do is to do a Google Alert. One puts their name in the Google Alert. Then when there is a publication with the name Tim Dowd, for example, the individual will get an email. This can be set up for daily or weekly alerts. Therefore, when a company files a legal notice in the Duncan Register, for example, listing Tim Dowd, then the individual will get notice of the publication. Free by the way.
I’ve tried searching on the OCC website to learn the outcome at a protest hearing that was scheduled earlier in July but have not been able to locate information. Is that information available to owners? If so, where do I look to find the information? Thank you.

We received notice of a protest hearing which was to be held Jul 8-10, but nothing more. We do not have a case number for the protest hearing. Now we have received notice of another company filing applications for spacing units in the same sections and also an application for pooling, all filed with the OCC at the same time. We interpret this to mean that the first company stopped their effort and this second company is moving forward with pooling. We will reach out to the new company this afternoon reference corrected owner addresses and additional family information.
Good idea to reach out with addresses and names of family. The notice of the protest should have a number on it near the top or in the body. It will start with a year 2025-or 2026-and then several more digits.
There is a Cause No. CD, but searching with that number on the OCC website did not show anything.

In March 2026 there were two spacing unit applications filed with the OCC which included our minerals: 2026-000986-T (one section) and 2026-000989-T (three sections). Our last notice on this was a protest had been filed and a hearing date of Jul 8-9-10 set. The one-section spacing application specified “a 640-acre horizontal drilling and spacing unit for the Deese common source(s) of supply underlying Section(s) 1, Township 10 North, Range 12 West, Caddo County, Oklahoma. Said 640-acre horizontal unit to be formed by the governmental section, with the permitted well location to be located not closer than 660 feet from the boundary of such unit.”
We now have another company that has filed a spacing unit application: 2026-002644 (one section). This company’s Notice of Hearing states that it is "(a) deleting Order No. 78203 as to the 640-acre drilling and spacing units for the Cherokee and Skinner common sources of supply underlying Section 1, Township 10 North, Range 12 West, Caddo County, Oklahoma; and (b) establishing a 640-acre horizontal drilling and spacing unit for the Deese common source of supply underlying Section 1, Township 10 North, Range 12 West, Caddo County, Oklahoma.” Hearing date 10 August.
This appears that two companies are applying for horizontal drilling in our area – one in the Deese common source(s) and the other in the Cherokee and Skinner common sources. Thank you for any insight regarding this.
Coterra was bought out by Devon. Looks like Warwick Jupiter is taking over as the potential operator. Pooling hearing date is 8-10-26 for those that are not leased. 2026-002649

Thank you, M_Barnes. Coterra’s filings were protested. Interesting that you used the word “potential”. A very brief email this morning advises that the Warwick-Jupiter filings are being protested by another operator. We will just wait.
