Good afternoon, I just inherited mineral rights in Ward and Burke County. I live in Arizona and just wondering if there may be any value in these. I have approximately 40 acres - the largest are T160N R89W Section 5 and 8. And, T160N R89W Section 7 and 9. And very minimal amount in T162N R88W Section 2, 24, and 25. Someone put a map link up that I tried and couldn’t really get anything out of it. Thanks!
There’s one rig in the western part of Burke County, and most of the permits seem to be in the southwest section of the County. I’ve outlined your tracts in teal. Unfortunately, they’re miles away from where the drilling and permits are. Your minerals are still worth something, but I’d say don’t expect them to fetch a high premium per acre.
I say keep the rights unless you need to sell. One of the new things is lithium from brine and frac water. Also lithium is being found in coal mines. No one has figured out how to make these economical to retrieve and refine, but they will. Who knows what other minerals might be in ND. Good luck!
