Jackson co. Kansas?

I have had some offers on my property. Does anyone know anything about my area. I know there is a well that just started pumping and one more going in on the place. I am very new to all of this. Thanks

I haven't heard anything about leasing activity in Jackson. What terms are they offering? If you don't mind sharing.

Form $35 to $55 an ac and 3yrs no option to 5 yrs with a 5 year option.

Those terms seem pretty decent for the area. Who is doing the drilling and/or leasing?

James C karo, and JD drilling. JCK wont tell me who would be drilling. Do you know these co. and have any info? You can email me @ lrupnick@gmail.com Thanks

I was approached by Skyler Justis of Land Services inc (Blanchard OK) for a oil/gas leasewith H.Huffman and Co. in OKC on my 80ac property. The initial offer was a $10/acre for a 5 year and 2 year option with free surface use. Didn't sound like a good deal to me.

Are they drilling for oil in Jackson County? When I lived in Shawnee County I reviewed lots of old (really old) oil and gas leases. But to my knowledge, no production has ever occurred in Shawnee County up to the time I left (2009).

Rumor has it there has been sismic testing done in Jackson county. I've heard those rumors for several years but you know how ranchers/farmers talk. There are a few active oil fields NW of Holton acording to the state's website. All I know is I recieved an unsolicited call and then a contract in the mail. I wasn't really happy with the contract as it did not protect my surface interests at all. I plan to send them back my own contract. My mom has several interests in production out around Satanta KS so I know just enough to be foolish.
