In a sale of mineral rights from an individual to a company, is there a standard or common percentage or percentage range of the sales price the company will put in escrow to be forfeited to the individual if the company drops out?

you can always ask for a nonrefundable deposit unless title fails clause. Don’t sign an agreement if they’re not willing to put up some sort of earnest money.
