Inherited minerals

Came across a letter that was sent that my mom doesn’t remember researching.

She inherited mineral rights in Smith County, but apparently the lawyer sent her a mineral and royalty deed that they found after they sent out the other ones. She never got this one transferred into her name. How would I go about finding out info on it? I’ve been on Texas file, Shelby County CAD, Panola County CAD (because it says Panola in description).

It says County of Shelby

Well/lease: Fogleman/Clydelle MRS (A-1)

Section/Township/Range: A-423 A McFadden Sir Panola Co - 43.14%, 703.385 AC

OPERATOR: Brock Oil and Gas Corp

Check Smith, Shelby, and Panola on Texas File. Did lawyer send your mother copy of deed? Y

You can also check for her name for all of Texas on Texas File, small fee to check.

Yes, I checked Texas File. I have the ones from Smith and Wood County. I just found this deed for Panola County yesterday and can’t find anything about it. I checked for my mom’s name, the person she inherited it from, and even the person she inherited it from. I don’t see any info on it.

Did you check the name on the deed that she inherited it from?

@Swilliams0303, please see map below. API 42-365-30180 is the well you mentioned.

Located in A-423 of Panola County (Shelby County directly to the South).

Well was permitted in 1994 and plugged in 2011.

Thank you. I just wanted to make sure I have everything together…

I did. It goes back to the person who inherited it before her.

You can search Smith County OPR online. I don’t know how far it goes back but it’s there. Google Smith County Texas public records.
