I and my siblings have mineral rights in northern Utah area. This was something our father left for us. I knew we had this but, never knew what it was worth or, in the exact location it is in. I was contacted by a company to sell the rights but I declined. Now, I’m curious as to how much it is worth and the location. How do I find these things?
- Do you have a legal description? If yes, then you can go to a map with township and ranges and locate it. But, that is not particularly enlightening at this stage as to the value.
- If you don’t have a legal description, you might look in the unclaimed property list for Utah and the state where your father resided at the time of his death. It might give more information.
- Otherwise, I will leave further advice to someone who knows Utah land information.
