I don’t know what Louisiana calls an LLC, but I do know that the uniform State codes don’t let an LLC use the letters INC (incorporated) because of their very different organization. LLCs have no stockholders–they have members, and Inc is always for a stock company with shareholders. Try googling the Louisiana State Secretary of State page, and I will bet you can find out.

An Oil & Gas Company changed from an Inc. to L.L.C. However, on my Quarterly Reports they still show their company name to be Inc. Can they do that?
