I sold some mineral rights that were producing (not much) awhile back. After I sold I kept getting revenue check (again not much). Long story short I am still receiving over a year later. Isnt it up to the buyer to get these switched into there name? I provided statements to the buyer and everything. Advice please. Should I cash the checks? I received a 1099 last year.

Tom: don't cash the checks. You will lose in court if buyer comes after that production money. Send them the checks and tell them to contact producer.

Tom Henery, if you send the buyer the checks, make sure you VOID them. Most are probably stale dated anyway.
