As anyone can tell I am new to the mineral rights forum. I am looking to learn more about the forum and to find someone who is either interested in leasing mineral rights or who can help me find someone interested. My cousins and I have mineral rights in Duval county. It was drill on in the 30s. The driller hit gas, which at that time no one wanted so the well was capped. I have my grandfather's papers. I also have maps.
Barbara,Go to the face page of Mineral Rights Forum and in the center of the page you will see 'Mineral Help'. Lock on that and scroll down to where it says Lease MyLand. Click on that and it will give you some pointers about leasing your minerals. Is there any drilling going on at this time in the area? If so, find out who the operator(Oil Company) is and talk to them and tell them what you have got. Good luck on your venture. Since the price of natural gas in so low at this time you may have a hard time time finding a operator to drill unless it is good wet gas. Just my opinion.
Barbara, welcome to the Mineral Rights Forum. A lot of good people on the Forum with a mountain of knowledge and experience willing to help other members.
Good luck with this. My experience, and that of others I know, is that trying to market one's minerals is an exercise in futility!! (sorry to say this). If an oil and gas company wants to make a lease with you, they will find you. There are, however, ways to advertising minerals for lease.
I am a Certified Professional Landman - I research records, prepare reports and lease land for oil companies.
If you will invite me to be "a friend" on the forum (which I believe you have to do in order to share personal contact information) and send me what you have on the property, I will take a look at recent drilling and leasing activity for you.
I would be glad to invite you to be a friend on the mineral rights forum if I knew how to do it. Barbara

I just invited you instead by clicking the link "Send Message" under your name at the bottom of your original message. When you get my invitation, click "Accept" and we can have a more private conversation.
It probably wouldn't matter whether you sent your documents in a regular message anyway, but I find uploading files through the forum's website almost impossible to achieve.
I also live near Seguin and took interest in your question because Eagle Ford is so near. I find maps that show drilling activity and geological information showing our property to be north of the highlighted zones of Eagle Ford - but also some info that looks as if the formation may extend further north than has been explored as of yet.
Given this- I'd be interested in relevant information Charles may share with you in private messages, that of course isn't too personalized to share publically.
I'll be happy to help you both. All I really need is your respective legal descriptions. I figured out how to invite Barbara to be "a friend", but don't know how to ask you. See if you can figure out how to ask me. I know this is getting complicated, but one of the guys repremanded one time about putting my contact information in a general forum message. Something about solicitation, which I agree should be kept out of the forum. I can tell you that at least the northern part of Duval County will be within the Eagle Ford Shale play and, in fact, anywhere from 200 to 350 feet thick. Unfortunately, it is in the Dry Gas window of the play and extremely deep. Everyone agrees the gas is there and that there is plenty of it, but as expensive as it is to drill to those deeper depths and with natural gas prices hovering at around $2.40 per MCF, you won't be seeing many wells drillled to the Eagle Ford in Duval County anytime soon.
I think after you befriend someone you can send your email address to each other in a PM without any problem. Maybe R T Dukes can make a statement on that. Hello R T. Can you clarify this?
I am not sure if I am replying to you our to the discussion. My email is walk2texas@yahoo.com.

Charles: do you do any leasing in Reeves County, TX? My siblings and I have some acreage there, most leased, one with a very low producing gas well, and one 80 acres not leased. this 80 acres is in Sec. 34, Blk 58 PSL. If you are aware of anyone leasing in that section, I would appreciate knowing so I can contact them. Also if you know how much bonus is being paid in that ares. Thank you ver mych for any ainformation you can give me. Tommy Beauchamp
