Hughes County - pooling question

Can there be pooling if there is not a lease for the surface in place? Also, how do I find out what has been paid for leases in the past year? The pooling statute says they will look at the average pay for leases in the past few months. Where is this recorded?

Yes, there can be a pooling without the surface having a lease. They are not necessarily connected. The surface location for a horizontal well may not be over the sections that will be perforated. Lease amounts are not public. The closest you can come is to call any neighbors and ask what they got, ask on the forum, or look up the pooling orders in the surrounding sections. They are posted on the OCC website. If you are asking about Hughes County, then you need to post your questions in Hughes instead of McClain as Hughes folks may not watch McClain.
