How to use the public land survey system

A little homework and you will be able to find you property.

This is a good place to start, in order to read the Oklahoma Department of Transportation Section Maps.

I found a section map for all of Oklahoma at this Oklahoma Department of Transportation website.

Around the perimeter of the map you’ll see Ranges, as R3W, and Townships, as T4W. To locate the section of interest, look for the corner Section numbers such as 1, 6, 31, and 36. Then use the geology description on how to locate the Section of interest as well as the property description.

Here is a good BLM description of the way sections are divided.

Nice - thanks!
