I am inquiring about T150 R102 Section 26. In January 2025 the NDIC approved new spacing units including my section. From what I can tell they approved a new 1920 acre spacing unit of sections 25, 26 and 27; a 3840 acre spacing unit of sections 25, 26, 27, 34, 35, and 36; a 3840 acre unit of sections 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27. If I’m reading correctly the wells will all be drilled on a pad on the east line of section 28. I am now wondering how to find out if drilling permits have been approved/renewed or if they may have expired. I have found where I can search wells on the DMR website but I know I must be missing somewhere I can search for this info. I understand that wells are on a confidential status for 6 months (if I’m remembering correctly). Any insight is welcomed. Thank you for all your help!
At the moment, I see a set of permits coming from a surface location in 18-150-101W into a bottom hole location in 24. The well lease names start with “Toonie”. I do not see any others yet.
Thank you for your reply and the information. Where would I be able to keep track of this? I keep getting offers to purchase and I’m trying to keep myself informed of what is going on in this area.
Following I as well have mineral interest in this area.
You may just have to keep checking on the NDIC website for the sections in the unit and also the sections just to the outside. Common to have a surface location outside the unit a few hundred feet. It takes several hundred feet to make the turn from vertical to horizontal, so operators do not want to waste the turn distance inside the drilling unit. That way they can perforate as close to the allowed easement as possible because the horizontal leg is in the unit. The Toonie surface location is like that.
