How do I find out the status of recently permitted wells. Three laterals were permitted in January. One of the API #'s is 04132556. Looks like al three will be drilled fro the same pad. Thanks.
Unless you have a provision in your lease that requires the company to provide you drilling reports or you have access to one of the subscription services like Drilling Information there may not be a way to learn anything on the status until something is posted with RRC.
If you check those permits operators sometimes post spud dates but lots of them don’t. It would be shown on the Status line of the permit, but so far nothing is posted for any of the three wells you mentioned.
The next thing that may show on RRC’s site would be a directional survey and finally a completion report. That’s not due to RRC until 30 days after drilling is completed and since they don’t seem to enforce that deadline completions often take a lot longer to get there.
