I need to know how many oil companies in Carroll County are looking for mineral right leases. We have been offered a Paid Up Oil and Gas Lease. We have mineral rights for 1/2 acre in Monroe Township, Carroll County, Ohio. We were told by the rep from Chesapeake Exploration L.L.C. that they are the only players in the area. The offer is $900.00 for the 1/2 acre, 1/8th royalty shall be amended to eighteen and one-half percent, for a lease period of five years. They said that this is the going rate and they would not go less than 5 years. What kinds of leases and terms are being signed in this area and are there other outfits we can approach?
