I have an Oklahoma LLC. Plan to buy mineral rights in Texas and Louisiana. Do I need to have LLCs in each of those states? How to handle deed/title? Thank you, Toni
In my opinion and experience, no. I have property in several states that are owned by my Oklahoma LLC.
@Mararat, you may have to register your LLC in the new states as a “foreign” LLC and maintain an LLC agent in each state.
The answer would depend upon Texas and Louisiana’s statutes. Not a bad idea to check with a licensed attorney in each of those states.

Thank you, Todd. That says we need to register the LLC as a foreign entity in these states?
I didn’t register in those that don’t have State Income taxes. Each state will have a different definition of “transacting business.”
