How do i get my rights protected

I received notice from the rrc of a permit to drill. Told it would be by June or july. Then didn't hear from company at all. Called rrc and found that they started drilling on july. Still nothing from oil company. Then I contacted several people who said they would get back to me and correct it. This was in November. I have yet to hear from anyone or receive any rent or royalties. What is up with this. I have sent them my copies of the will and any paperwork proving ownership. I feel I need representation. This is in La Salle County. Would appreciate and help.

Yes, you need legal help. I assume you have not signed a lease or inherited land that had an existing lease? Do you have a legal description?

Before hiring an attorney, why not check the RRC Web site to see if the well has actually been completed and, if so, if it is producing? If it has not been completed, that would explain why you are not receiving royalties. If it was completed less than three months ago, give them a little bit longer to get you a division order to sign and return. If it was completed more than three months ago, you sent them a division order, and the well is not shut-in, you should have received a royalty payment by now, methinks. Then call in the cavalry.
