Three years ago I signed up with a leasing company and they gave me a check for $ 500.00. They told me within 2 years I would start receiving checks in the mail. I have received nothing. I now have other leasing companies trying to buy my mineral rights. I cant find any of my paperwork. How do I find out who I signed a contract?
If you executed an oil and gas lease, then the lessee would have recorded the lease with the county recorder in the county where the mineral acres are located. You can use the legal description of the mineral acres or the grantor index to find the document.
