How can I check status of rights?

Hi – my Aunt and sister and I inherited O&G mineral rights in Weld County, Colorado, and signed a lease with Contex Energy (Denver) in June 2010. Haven’t heard anything back from them. We’re wondering how we can know if there has been any exploration, or if there are producing well(s), and if so, whether we should be receiving any payments. We’re all out-of-state, and I am concerned that if a well was drilled and was producing, how can we know if the producers are following state law and reporting properly, and not just quietly keeping us uninformed?

I can provide the site information if that is helpful to anyone that can help us with information.

You could call the lessee and ask them what is going on.

Be prepared to give them the legal description of your property.
