Have oil lease with 4 vertical wells in Howard County. Birch is operator. Late in 2021 production was stopped on verticals to drill horizontal well (Sammy Bearkat) across lease. To date there is no production from verticals or horizontal and the horizontal status is shown as shut-in. Is this typical or are there problems I am not aware of?
Number of reasons wells might be shut in but since the wells you reference were just completed they look to be shut in due to offset pads being completed (current DUC or drilled uncompleted status). To avoid a frac hit Operators can shut in wells.
