Help with Ancillary probate in Blaine County Ok

Hello, My Father passed last November in Georgia, and left me a small mineral rights claim in Blaine County, OK. I have determined that this needs to go through Ancillary probate in that county. Is this something that can be done by an individual or is it necessary to hire an attorney. If an attorney is required does anyone know of one that they could recommend? I have contacted one but have heard nothing back from them for a month or so. Thank you for any help with this

File an affidavit of death on the property with your info listed. If the minerals are worth anything, the landmen will seek you out and lead you through the steps

Welcome to the forum. Condolences on your father passing.

If your father had royalty income, then contact the operator and see what they say you need to do to get the heirs into pay. OK usually requires a foreign probate if the owner died lived outside of OK. For very small values, there is a less expensive way to do it than full blown. The operator may let you just use an affidavit of heirship. See posts by Richard Winblad on OK options.

Thank you, It was paying about $100 a quarter before he passed
