Help parents have minerals rights where do I start?

Help I need help

Hello Shirley,

Tell us what State and County these minerals acreage are in and also the legal description: Abstract #, Block, Section and surely someone can give you some guidance.

I am so happy that you replied to my question. I was hoping you could help. My parents are the Garrett family. From what I have researched, they have the minerals to this land that my great-great-grandfather bought. All the land is in Texas, Anderson County - Palestine. They seem to be all connected to WH Smith 320 acre survey GH Huey, JW Carpenter, JA Harper. I know they are all connected to my family and there is some action going on there. We had been contacted by a landman several months ago, but you know when family here oil connect big minds money it tends to get ugly. So I myself went to Palestine and researched about my grandparents and found how this all connects to us. I remember my momma telling us when they were young they received checks but never cashed them. Years ago my mother passed that when we received that call but never heard anything else. I did talk to the landman who called us and he said it is on that back burner for now. I do know the company EOG is involved. I just don’t know where to start? Please if you can give me a start, I thank you from my heart. Shirley

Also we it on the G Chenowith land.

Shirley,

I would love to help you but I need to know the Abstract #, Section, and Block #. Those numbers will be on the deeds to the property. The numbers should also be on the property tax statement you receive every year from Anderson County Appraisal District (Tax Department). Also, you may want to join the Anderson County Group.

If you have questions, ask this group that have minerals in Anderson County.

How about George Chenowith Survey Abstract no. 202? There are 3 tracts totaling 114.253 acres. Hope this is a start.

Shirley,

After checking the GIS Map I see where your minerals are located directly to the south of A-966 (W. H. Smith Survey). If this well turns out to be a good well you are in a fantastic location for a good lease and future exploration and production. Here’s hoping that it is a good well. That is where EOG has drilled a test (wildcat) well (Autry #1) (API 001-32739). I tried pulling up a completion report on this well and no completion report available at this time.

At this time I do not know the status of this well. Join the Anderson County Group and ask the Group if anyone has any news on the Autry well southwest of Palestine, Texas.
