Help Division order

Hello, I hope this email finds you well. I am new here and also with mineral and oil. I came across a question where I am experiencing the same problem where you assisted another person. The problem arise is where the operator has not sent over my division order. The land I do have the operator was skeptical of transferring in my name because it was a investment. They end up transferring it after speaking with their legal team. I have not received any paper work sense they stated they transferred it and it has been about a month. At the beginning of that month they asked me for my address to send a division order. I have not received the division order yet. I contact them again and they stated I need me to fill out the W9 with no mention of the division order, but they mentioned I will be receiving a check. After speaking to them prior they stated I only have 25.00and they continue to bring that up. I then asked again about the division order once again and was replied with another sarcastic reply as to, I have gotten everyone’s attentions from the President of the land and other executive ppl and they have did all the can to assist me. Not true. They still didn’t say anything about the division order, but they continue to say I will be getting a check. I did not even speak on a check, and I want to confirm that everything I will be receiving is exactly what the prior owner was receiving. The percentage and all. Including the production on top and lower. I believe they are doing some things behind my back because I’m new to this and this was a tiny investment that end up having oil and mineral. I need to learn as much as possible. If you may have some understanding on what maybe going on it will be helpful to let me know and advise me of what. Prior to all this when I first start doing my research on the land and found the oil, there were payments that was owed. Now all those back payments from the time I purchased is no longer there. I am sorry for contacting you the first time with this long explanation and problem, but as I review this sight it seems as if you have much knowledge of oil and minerals. This land is also in Oklahoma. I want to thank you for your time , in hopes to hearing back from you soon. Yolanda

It can be complex and takes some time to get everything in order. It is common for the company to hold payments until they reach $100. You can change that minimum to $25 once you receive your Division Order and check the decimal amount to make sure it is correct. It can take 30-90 days to get the paperwork sent to you, so a month is the low end.

In the meantime while you are waiting, make sure that you have your address and contact information filed at the county courthouse where your minerals are located-along with a description of the mineral acres. You can call the recorder of deeds to ask for the format. Some counties have margins for the edges of the paper, etc.

You are not required to sign a Division Order in OK, but you do need to send the operator your W-9. Use the magnifying glass in the upper corner to find “Letter in Lieu of Division Order” to get a feel for what you need to send.
