Have inherited some mineral rights. S10,T2N, R6W

I have inherited some mineral rights in Stephens County, OK. The location is in Section 10, Township 2 North, Range 6 West.

How do I go about finding if there is any activity I should be aware of as a mineral rights owner?

I’m so green at this, if you stuck me in the ground I would take root.

Thanks for any help.

Best wishes, Rusty.

Welcome to the forum. You will learn all quite a bit here. The best thing to do is read the Oklahoma Minerals area and specifically the Stephens County posts. Read the Mineral Help above. The Oklahoma Corporation Commission has a website that lets you search for wells, Commission orders, etc.

Pending OCC cases at the following link: http://www.occeweb.com/caseprocessingonline/default.aspx

Actual cases if you have the case numbers: http://imaging.occeweb.com/imaging/OAP.aspx

Docket proceedings: http://www.occeweb.com/ap/docket_results.html

Well activity: http://imaging.occeweb.com/imaging/OGWellRecords.aspx Production: Gross Production

Leasing activity and sales for most OK counties: www.okcountryrecords.com

Your acreage does not currently have any activity. It is located in an area with very deep reservoirs that may have gas, but are not economically feasible at this time.

Thank you so much for the quick reply and links!

Sincerely, Rusty

Using the for OCC Imaging I can get results if I plug the example they use for legal description but I cannot seem to put the information I provided into the format desired by the input field in order to get any search results. How should I enter “Section 10, Township 2 North, Range 6 West” in a format that it will accept?

Not sure which part of the OCC you are using. If the well records, then use 1002N06W in the location box. Also. you may have to try the contiguous sections around you because you may have a multi unit horizontal that does not have a surface location in your section.

If you are using the case processing, then type in 10 in the first box 02N in the second box and 06W in the third box.

Which other ones are you trying?

It does not appear to have any recent activity. 6W is a bit west of the main production in Stephens county. Marathon has filed an increased density in section 3 of 2N-6W, which sits directly north of section 10, however that Increased density was filed in June of 2019. As far as the rest of 2N-6W, there are no horizontal wells or and no OCC regulatory has been filed in the last 2 years.
