Does anyone have any information regarding the recent Marathon Oil acquisition of Hilcorp’s EFS positions in the GW Davis Tract (4-6 miles north of Cuero following US183) specifically with respect to drilling, plans, etc? Thanks, Mike '77

I too am in the GW Davis survey. We were in the process of leasing with Hilcorp when the acquisition announcement took place back in June. We were told everything would be on hold until the deal was final on Nov. 1. I spoke to our landman about a week ago and he said as soon as the deal was done they (Marathon) would be leasing again.
I have done extensive research using leasing maps (from various websites), Google Earth and the Railroad Commission's website. There are a number of permits issued to the north and west of GW Davis survey. Most of the non-permitted areas (ours) is Marathon/Hilcorp leases. I have a feeling things will pick up soon, probably towards the first of the year now that the acquisition deal is final.
