Gross Acres vs Net Acres

When leasing mineral rights, when are you told how many NET acres are involved?

Ask the agent who is trying to lease you. The lease itself will commonly have the gross acres listed that ties back to the original land grand tract. Make sure that you ask for the net “mineral” acres, not the net “royalty” acres. The agent may not have done the title work yet, so might not know.
