Does anyone know how the State of ND acquires mineral acrea for it’s quarterly sale? I own a percentage of the NMA that I see ND sold at auction in November 2010.
I think Gerald that the state of ND retained all the acres that nobody homesteaded, that was not granted to schools and if I understand the history correctly that if you lost your property due to unpaid taxes during the depression, you could stay on the land and even could redeem it, but the state may have retained half or all of the mineral rights.
