I thought the purpose was to provide helpful information to many of us who have absolutely no idea what is happening with our oil rights. Enough already! Does anyone have ANY current information about Golden Valley?
Bonnie, if you haven’t done so, go to the Golden Valley County page and review what is there. I don’t believe any of us have much beyond the basic information as to what is going on within the county. Over the past few years Whiting has had some producing wells in the NE corner of the county (Township 143-Range 103). Otherwise, the potential for this county remains largely unknown;

In the past year Chesapeake leased a bunch of acres south of Interstate 94. They are now drilling a well (their first?). Nothing reported yet, and not much for additional permitting activity by them.

Since 2007 Whiting leased a bunch of acres north and east of Beach (north of I-94). During 2010 & 2011 they’ve drilled a handful of wells with results reported on only two. They reported one of those (Township 143-Range 105, Section 35) as not commercially viable (i.e., a dry hole). The other reported was the Maus well (Township 141-Range 104, Section 22). This vertical well had initial production of 282 bbls per day. That is decent production from a vertical well.
During 2011 Whiting also drilled three wells in Township 141-Range 105 (Sections 9, 14, and 25). They’ve reported no info on how those wells have done. They’re currently drilling one in Township 142-Range 103 (Section 24). Again, nothing has been reported. When I see anything reported I’ll post it to the county page. Otherwise, like you, we are all waiting to learn how the drilling has turned out.
Thank you for your response. It is truly appreciated!
