Geophysical Survey in Ward Co., Texas

I was wondering if anyone has any idea what the going rate is, per acre, for a Geophysical Survey in Ward County, Texas?

If desert scrub with no special value, then $20-25/acre.

Dear Ms. Bauer,

Surface, mineral or both? Under lease with a non-exclusive right to perform seismic? If under lease, is the Operator sponsoring the seismic shoot?

Best,

Buddy Cotten

It it both surface and mineral and even though the operator has exclusive rights, he has consented to the survey.

Dear Ms. Bauer,

Shucks. Actually, your permit would only be essential for surface only. AND, they really do not need your permission, since the mineral estate is the dominant estate. Having said that, they really want your permission, so that there are no problems down the line.

Mr. Caldwell gave you a good price range. There are items that you might want to consider including in the permit form. For example, stand off distances from houses, water wells, irrigation wells and receiving a call before operations begin to let you know when operations will be conducted on your property are just a couple. Requirements that gates be kept locked...the list is endless.

Best wishes,

Buddy Cotten
