My family is both mineral and surface owners on a well in section 10. The completion is under way. Rather than connect to electricity the oil company has installed a propane tank and will capture the gas from the well, somehow route it to the tank and it is supposed to power itself.
I have a feeling I know the answer but ... does the oil company reimburse the mineral owners for use of that gas? Our lease agreement is basic/standard - we were pooled. I think the answer will be no, and we're fine with that. Just don't want to depend on the oil company doing the right thing ... We like to our own research.
