William,
In the area of your minerals I see numerous older oil wells, plugged oil wells, and dry holes. The green dots with sticks running through them are plugged wells. The green dots are possibly producing oil wells and the blue circles with sticks coming out of them are dry holes. Definitely production in the area. But I don't see any activity lately or at the present time.

Thank you so much Clint!! Yes my dad, who is now 85,worked out here when he was about 14,these are very old wells!! I have had several inquiries about leasing these lands, perhaps with new technology, they plan to look for deeper formations!? Dawson geophysical co ran a seismic back in April or may, representing McClure oil company!! They are offering a 1/5 with $150/nma, but the lease is not a good one, as it is full of " holes", I think I should wait a bit, as those tests( which I would like to see), become accessible to other companies in the coming months? Thank you so much Clint!!! You definitely have your fingers on the pulse of activity in the area!! Do you think I should wait & see if I get a better deal??AAs I want some " new" technology to be used in the future, to my knowledge, these are very old & primitive wells, as some have been producing for 70 years!! Thank you so much Clint!!! Definatly well appreciated!! Tyner is the land man that represents McClure , but I know little about them, also have had a cpl of other inquiries!!! What is your take on this?? You think they are going for deeper formations??? Thank you so much!! Have a great holiday!!! Best regards!!! William!!..
If there is production in the area?? Are there " new" wells ,with some " new " technology??? Perhaps that is why things appear to be heating up?? Thanks Clint!! Really appreciate You!! Best regards William!!..
William,
I'm noticing some interest in the Mississippian Formation in the County at the 9,500' level. Definitely deeper than the 3,500' to 4,000' older wells. I believe I would hold off on leasing and see what happens on some of the wells that have already been permitted for the Mississippi play. Apache Corporation is one of the major operators in the area checking the deeper formation.
After checking further I see where the Strawn and Ellenburger(8,300' to 8,700') formations are also being tested. Some other operators drilling into the deeper formations in Garza County are Stephens Oil Corp., Raw Oil and Gas, Reatta Energy, and Shenandoah.
