I’m a mineral owner in Smith 1-18H through Smith 6-18H leased by Marathon. The last two royalty checks were significantly down which could be for any number of reasons. I know Marathon has plans for two more wells in this same section. Can anyone provide an update on these wells? I don’t live close enough to visually check on the site myself. Thank you.
The royalty amounts could be down for price reasons, natural decline reasons, or if they shut in the wells while they fracked wells nearby.
You can monitor the activity to some extent on the OCC well records site.
