Garvin County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Hutch, you are the best! Thank you so much! I will try to contact Newfield today. Know we have a problem, interests are still listed in our parents’ names but at least we have a starting point.

It’s been awhile since I posted here, but I just finished catching up on all the terrific comments & info. Thank you all for sharing so generously & tirelessly! A special “thanks!” to Chris Moore-your Pooling data really helped me a lot. Please don’t stop :).

I saw there that Pooling was ordered 5/7/12 for sec 7 2n3w where my brother, sister & I have a mineral interest. Does anyone know if they are drilling there? If they are, do you know the name of the well? How it’s doing? Also, since we weren’t aware of the pooling, I guess we were forced pooled-in a case like this, which pooling option do they give you? Thanks!

Pamela, this is a little odd but here’s what I found: on 5-13-13 Newfield starting drilling the Williams 1-7 then on 6-13-13 they changed it to a multi-unit Horizontal well called the Williams 1H-7X. Multi-unit means it is a 2 section well and made up of sections 7 and 19.

If you were not leased and did not respond to the pooling order you were assigned option #1. $1200/acre 1/8 Royalty. In some cases they will do a second pooling if they find people who did not respond the first time. You might want to contact Newfield to see where you stand. If they do a second pooling you might have a chance at a better option. Click below to see the pooling order.

Again, I am new to this but am learning quite a bit about minerals. We have had an offer to purchase our minerals in 1-2N-1W for $1000 per acre. No offers to lease or anything. Just interested to see if anyone has an opinion on this. I am still not sure if anything is happening in our area at all.

Pam, the Floyd 1-8 is a relatively shallow 9000ft. vertical well compared to the Williams 1H-7X which will have about 12,000ft of vertical depth plus another 10,000ft of horizontal bore through 2 sections. Explains the huge difference in pooling bonus options and the $7mil or so difference in drilling and completion costs.

Correction, more like $10mil+ difference. The Williams is estimated at close to $14mil !

Linda,

I don’t think you are talking about the Floyd 1-8.

Pretty sure I was told that when they were drilling it. Maybe not! I thought I remembered that because there used to be someone named Floyd that I didn’t care for very much and I associated it with him when they were having trouble. Could be wrong~Stranger things have happened !!! lol

Mary,

There are some currently producing wells in some areas of 1-2N-1W.

But, I don’t see any new activity in it or the surrounding 8 sections.

I see that I made a mistake in my 1st question, the pooling order on 5/7/12 was for Sec. 8, 2N3W in which we also have an interest. I tried to find it on the OCC website but guess I am just internet inept! Can you find and post the link for that one also? I believe it’s Triad Energy, not Newfield otherwise I would just ask Newfield when I talk to them myself. Thanks!

There was another order extending it to 1 year. Well was spud in Dec but I don’t see a completion report.

hi. have a few acres in 27-2N-3W. has anybody heard about any activity there or close by? thanks

Don’t know what the projected completion cost on the Floyd was but they had some trouble on it before they finished with the rig and it took quite a bit longer than expected to drill so I’m sure the cost was more. I never heard how it did but I figured it had started paying by now. Seems like longer than six months but I lose track of time especially if it not mine.

The Floyd 1-8 is a verticle well.

I think you are refering to the horizonatl multi unit Floyd 1H-3X.

Yeah Linda quit picking on poor ole Floyd!

Just realized that link came from you Rick-sorry & Thank you!

If there’s no completion report on the Floyd 1-8 does that mean they’re still drilling? or stopped?

Can’t see that happening Hutch. You’re allowed one OOPS in your lifetime so now you’ve had yours. Don’t let it happen again! lol

Pam, you got it, only the owners in 7 & 18 get paid royalties. The allocation is based on the footage of completion in each section. Right now the Williams is set at 50/50 but won’t know for sure until drilling is complete. There are cases of 60/40, 70/30 and so on. The information about the surface location is on several documents posted by the OCC including the Permit to Drill.

I’ll let some of the locals take the Purdy Sand question, I think Rick is pretty familiar with it.

This is the Springer one. Exhibit “A” will provide a map.

Hutch, thanks so much for the link & info. Rick, Linda thanks for comments. Looks like I’m going to have to jump through hoops for both sections. Triad had no adrs at all, Newfield told me we have to file ancillary probate there in OK. Oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do! Without you guys I’d still be banging my head against the wall! :_)
