Jackie, that is not a valid sec/township/range
Thank you M Barnes. So how does this work with the Purdy Springer/ Hart units? Iâm with Merit on those.
OkayâŚthatâs better. Thank you M Barnes. Then âDrill Baby Drill.â
Form 1001A - Notification of Well Spud - filed for Eubank 1-10-3XH Sec 10 TWP 3N RGE 4W Garvin County. Spud date: Oct. 26, 2015. operator: Marathon Oil.
Has anyone ever dealt with Echo Minerals? If so, any information on them would be helpful. Thank you.
Jay, I have not personally but know of several that have without issues. This was with leases and now I understand that they are now primarily buyers. If you are considering selling, be sure and get offers from others to make sure you are receiving a fair price regardless.
Is there a difference in stating in a Mineral Deed âContract Landsâ as opposed to " above described lands"?
Thank you M Barnes. The animation videos on OERB are excellent. That helps a lot.
Please share information about horizontal wells (Eubank 1-10-3XH I am following with great interest.) I know a little about oil and gas - from limited experience but I know less about all the new technology. I googled âhorizontal wellâ and just could not find info in laymanâs terms. I read somewhere that multiple wells can be drilled from a horizontal wellâŚI assume underground. I also read that it takes 45 to 120 days to drill a well. So if someone could at least point me in the direction of some good reference material - I would be grateful.
Jackie,
There are some excellent resources out there. www.oerb.com has some good videos and educational material.
Essentially, a âhorizontalâ well starts as a vertical well and goes almost straight down. Then it makes a dogleg turn of about 90 degrees at the proper depth. Then it goes almost horizontal for the distance required-either one section or two sections (~5000â or 10,000â). The end of the well, the toe, may sometimes actually be a little higher to help with drainage. I posted a picture below.
They can drill several horizontal holes from the same surface pad, but it is possible, but rare to actually do the multiple well kickoffs at depth. I wonât go into all the details on that. I have heard of some, but they are not doing them often in the SCOOP or STACK. More traditional horizontal wells.
There are some very good pictures on the latest investor presentations for Newfield, Marathon, Continental Resources, Cimarex.
Initial bbls per day of oil from the Hayes was over 2000. What is going on now? Does anyone have current production numbers?
GeneâŚwhere you read about the bbls per day on the Hayes well did it say 2000 boepd (which would have meant âBarrels of oil equivalent per dayâ)? If so it wouldnât mean just oil. Bopd would only be the oil.
For Jay, Iâve just talked with Echo Energy also. Hard to tell, but the guy seemed legit enough. Said they are trying to buy while the prices are down, obviously. We have 5 acres in Sec 6 3N 4W., then some more in sec 1. The want to buy the minerals of Sec 6. Of course I donât have any check stubs at present. I think Merit Energy may be paying royalties here. Got to figure out which section is under production. Not much coming in.
Did Echo still Buy your 2 nma?
M Barnes,
Iâm tying to dowload the latest âintent to drillâ zip document from the corp commission, but it keeps hitting an error.
Not real interested in selling, but these minerals have been in the family my whole life, over 50 years. Theyâve paid somewhat well for about 10 of those years. The offer would represent a good percentage of what those minerals have brought in over a general 10-20 year average. The unknowns are what the future may hold.
Your 6 is probably going to be a Woodford and/or Springer play. 1 is in shallower horizons, but has Woodford under it.
Gene, I had one of my forum friends look up the Hayes and actual numbers were never really that high and never maintained anywhere near 2000. Production on the Hayes is waaay down for me personally. I would have to look up my check stub on the NFX website to see exactly what prod is but I can say without looking itâs down considerably.
For Chris: They certainly didnât have as much interest. I quashed it. I will wait on these to see if the industry rebounds. Iâd rather get three times as much as the $2,300 they were offering. Oh yes, by the way to help you if I can; they said they would pay $2,300/acre if my wells had an 1/8 RI and $3,100/acre if they had 3/16. Just some info.
To M. Barnes: Thanks for that advice. Living in Arizona I donât have the opportunity to really see the action where you are. Where can I go to see about drilling? Does the intent to drill doc provide you with an update on all areas? Iâd love to be able to see what is going on there.
One more for M. Barnes,
You seem to know 3N/4W pretty well. I havenât been down there in a while, but I know the whole area is covered in wells. From the research Iâve done on the Oil Data sight, it seems the eastern portion of this T/R is more developed than the west. Specifically the Purdy region. The minerals we had the offer for, in Section 6 is the far NW corner of the Town/Range. Much quieter there. Do you know the reason for this?
Thanks
