Garvin County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

I’m afraid I see more trash dropped at the runs than picked up by the runners. The staff do a good job of collecting things discarded. I’m afraid you’ll need to look for a different venue to support that. I’m not sure I love or even like them, but today is number 20 for the year. 1 more to go on New Years Eve to close out 2013. And then another on New Years Day to open 2014.

The numbers were not meant to be encouraging. But that is what I believe it will look like on these Woodford wells.

Linda and Charles,

Have been out of town. Sorry for the slow response. The guy at Energy Lease told my brother thats how many they were sending out that day for lease extensions. Charles that 1500 number was how many checks they were sending out. It was pooled at $1600 / acre.

Karla,

Others may disagree, but as an attorney, you need an attorney. Another deed isn’t possible now that she is deceased.

Mike

Thanks Mike and Darla. It’s worth a try!

Need some advice please. My mother deeded some land and minerals to me before she died. The range should have been west and she put east on the deed. It is leased at present but primary is up in May. Do I need an attorney to do a correction deed? Is it something I can do. Thanks

Mike, I talked to the county clerk and she said since I have the original deed from my mom to me that I can send it in and they can do a correction. Is that not okay?

Karla,

I had a client in the same situation. The attorney we consulted said if you have the original signed deed with the original signature, notary and county stamp on it you can write “Correction” at the top of the deed and mark through the incorrect information and note the correct information next to it. If you have a copy or just a certified copy it is not possible to do this. You must make the correction. The county clerks in Oklahoma are not bonded and are unable to make any changes to documents. If they do they are opening themselves up to lawsuits if something is done incorrectly.

Karla,

I wasnt aware that county clerks can make changes to filed instruments. If they say its ok and they will accept the change I guess that would work. As far as marketable title it would depend on how it was done and the title examiners opinion.

Hutch, if it was corrected by the cousin don’t I still need my deeds corrected from grandma to my mom to her Trust to me? I have all the originals, but they all have the wrong range. At least they were consistent!

Karla If you can get a copy of book 2001 page 46 in Garvin co. records there is one a cousin did . Co. clerk might fax it to you ,or she will mail it . Was not much to it .

Karla,

Is the trust still active? when was the deed to you filed?

the minerals were conveyed from the trust to you? who was the trustee and who is the trustee now?

karla, please message me privately if you would like to discuss this further.

mike

Karla,

Just my opinion but I think you should consult an attorney of your own choosing before taking either of those steps. Maybe being too cautious but you don’t want to create even more problems.

Yes, the trust is still active. I filed the deed in February before she died in April. She quit claimed it to me a year ago in December.

I think this is a good article on the issue of oil exports.

Has anyone heard any updates on the Studdard?

Karla, I have not heard anything about the Studdard since Linda reported that there was a completion rig on it a week or so ago. It is probably a little early to get numbers (production) on. My guess would be a couple of months before we know. I am anxious myself.

Rick, always man so that don’t look too good and with only one more well how does it look and what would be the likelihood of more well throughout the acreage owned by the family?? Is there alternative really routes to see if other companies might be interested in drilling wells with us??
