Over the last 5 years or so I have been reached out to a few times from companies looking to purchase my mineral rights in Section 34, Township 2N, Range 2W in Garvin County. The latest is Rockwell Minerals.
My grandparents and dad were from that area. They are all gone and I have no idea about any mineral rights that were left to me. How do I find out if I in fact have mineral rights left to me?
You may be able to look up leases and probates from your ancestors on www.okcountyrecords.com That is where the landmen start looking. Did your ancestors have wills? They should have been probated in the county where they lived.
There is active leasing nearby in 33 and 35. If the landman calls, ask them how they found you, how many net acres they are carrying for you.
